How can I copy a block link while I am in edit mode?

Is it possible? I just clicked on the block so I could copy its link. But now I guess I am "editing" even though I haven't changed anything, and now I cannot click on the copy block link?

So it feels like I am being punished for clicking into a block that I am trying to copy a reference to.
